Welcome EPS Families to the 2021-22 school year! I am looking forward to the start of an exciting new year. The staff has been working diligently to prepare the building for you and your child. In this letter, you will find important information regarding our building’s daily procedures.
The tentative class lists and bus routes have been posted at the front entrance of EPS. Would you please let us know if you have difficulty finding your child’s name? The office will post finalized lists Monday at Open House.
I want to invite you to Edgewood Primary School’s Open House on August 16th. We will open the doors at 5:30. Due to social distancing and the expected crowd, please limit attendance to students and parents/guardians. We encourage you to stop by to meet your child’s teacher anytime during this time set aside from 5:30-7:00. Teachers may have essential papers for you to pick up when visiting the room.
EPS Building Times:
Enter Building: 8:35 AM
Students Start: 9:00 AM
Students End: 3:50 PM
Arrival and Dismissal
Our first day of school is August 17th. Our doors will open at 8:35 a.m. At this time, they will either go to the gymnasium and sit on the designated line for their classroom or go to the cafeteria for breakfast. The monitors will assist the students in getting to where they need to be after eating breakfast.
The school day starts at 9:00 a.m. Students will be picked up in the gymnasium by their teachers. They will walk together to class to begin their day.
Dismissal will begin at 3:35 with our bus students. Please do not arrive any earlier than 3:00 to sit in the roundabout. We will begin with parent pick-up and walk-ups at 3:40. Signs will be posted. Only students riding buses will be dismissed out the doors at the main entrance. No vehicles will be able to enter the parking lot during dismissal time. We want to provide a safe dismissal for our students and families.
All students being picked up either in a car or walk up will need their child’s pickup tag each day. If you do not have this, you will need a photo ID to verify that you are on the pick-up list.
Masks are highly recommended but, at this point, not mandatory unless your child is riding a bus. All students transported by bus to and from school are required to wear a mask.
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
