Dear Edgewood Primary Parents and Guardians,
Student safety is our top priority. Likewise, it is a top priority for the Trenton Police Department. This year, the number of cars waiting to drop off/pick up their student has increased significantly, creating a safety risk for our students who walk to and from school. Our students and their parents cannot see oncoming traffic when attempting to cross the intersection at First Street and Maple Avenue. To prevent an accident, our Trenton Police Department is preventing vehicles from waiting or parking on First Street and Maple Avenue, near the First Street intersection. Cars waiting or parking in these areas may be ticketed by the City of Trenton.
It was determined the best and safest solution for re-routing parents who drop off or pick up students is to wait on Marcia Drive until they can pull out onto Maple Avenue and enter the circle drive at Edgewood Primary.
For drivers waiting on Marcia Drive to drop off or pick up your student, please be courteous to the residents who live on this street. Please do not block any driveways or intersections.
To make this process work even better, we ask that you:
● DO NOT ARRIVE ANY EARLIER THAN 8:20 a.m. TO DROP OFF YOUR STUDENT
● DO NOT ARRIVE ANY EARLIER THAN 3:00 p.m. TO PICK-UP YOUR STUDENT
Your willingness to respect these drop-off and pick-up times will reduce the time you spend waiting!
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this process. Our goal is to ensure the safety of our students as they arrive and leave school. We also expect that your experience will go faster when dropping off and picking up your student by following this new process.
