Emergency Alert System Test and Inclement Weather Communication Plan
Posted Date: 10/31/25 (9:00 AM)
Edgewood Families,
Next Tuesday, November 4th, while all students are off school, we will be running a test of the alert messaging system in Parent Square. This will be the system we use this year to communicate any delays and closings. As we prepare for colder weather in the coming weeks, we want to ensure that all messages are going out properly.
What Differences Will I See in Delay/Closure Messaging?
- None. Alerts will go out as they always have via text, call, email, website posting, and posting on news channels. If you utilize the Parent Square app, you will also receive a notification.
- At 9am on Tuesday, November 4th you should receive a call/text/email with the message "This is a test of the Edgewood City Schools emergency alert system. There are currently no delays or closures. This is a test. Thank you."
- Please reach out to your child's school to verify the contact information that we have on file. School secretaries can help make any corrections that may be needed.
