Maggie Henderson, a senior from Edgewood High School, has been recognized as this year’s Butler County representative for the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award. Alongside this honor, Maggie has been granted a $1000 scholarship in acknowledgment of her scholastic achievements and contributions to the Edgewood community.
Maggie's dedication to her education and her involvement in numerous scholastic and extracurricular activities exemplify her commitment to excellence. Her outstanding academic performance and active engagement have made her a valued member of the Edgewood community.
The recognition ceremony took place during the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Awards luncheon on Monday, April 15th, at the Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center in Columbus. Accompanying Maggie were her mother, Angie Henderson, Chris Brown, Superintendent of the Butler County Educational Service Center (BCESC), and Doug Geygan, Principal of Edgewood High School.
Chris Brown will present Maggie with the Franklin B. Walter Scholarship during the upcoming BCESC board meeting scheduled for May 15th, 2023. Maggie Henderson holds the distinction of being the first recipient of this scholarship in recent memory at Edgewood High School. This award is given yearly to only one outstanding high school student in the county, making Maggie's achievement all the more admirable.
